"Meet My Family"

We visited KL one day. Along the way from JB, I need to beg to listen to a song in the radio because he only wanted to play his CDs. All his CDs are songs that mixed by DJs. Now, how can I say ‘no’? Slowly, I am enjoying his music. He knows how to ‘force’ people accepting his music. Hehe…

When we arrived in KL, our actual plan did not work. If I was with all female friends, I will be fine to just go to any shopping mall, do the window shopping. But I know, he will not enjoy that. How? I experienced looking to his impatient face when I stopped for shopping. Guys…

So I prepared myself to just follow his plan. After thinking for a while, he suddenly suggested, “Let’s go to my home. Meet my family”

*GLUP* what does he means by meeting his family? Usually, when a guy introduces a girl to his family, he is asking for acceptance from his family to continue the relationship with the girl. Approval. Huh, how about in my case?

“We can have dinner at my home”, he continued by looking into my eyes, waiting for my response.

Relax, he is your friend, like other friends. You also introduce you male friends to you family, right? So what is the problem?

A, B, C, D….. and finally, we were in front of his house. I stand behind him, thinking what I need to do. When he moved, I can see two ladies with exciting faces, seeing him unexpectedly. And they looked to me with… surprise?

I talked to his younger sister first. She was friendly and with her beautiful smile, I felt less nervous. Hurm, nervous? Why should I?

“What is your name?”
“How you know my son?”
“What are you doing in JB?”
“You are working as what?”

Fuh, I feel like meeting a police officer, answering his mother.  Relax, relax.

I can see him as a family man. The way his mother and sister welcoming him, the way his brother came to him, they looks like very close to each other. They ARE close to each other. While he talking to his brother, in Tamil, I then knew nothing to do. As the only lady at the living room make me feel uneasy. I asked his permission to go to the kitchen, where his mother and sister were.

Then, I started feeling better. I helped his mother cooking, even I made the egg burnt a little bit, I was so happy having conversation with her especially about her way of cooking rice. She boiled the water first before putting the cleaned rice into the pot. When the rice is cooked, then she takes the excessive water out. I never know that method before. I only expert in putting the rice and water together in the rice cooker, switch it on, leave and eat!

Other than talking to her, I was also enjoying talking to his sister. She is going to further her study in law and she was so cute, sharing her feeling about studying in a college.

To be continued…
